This eight day, seven night, tailor made tour of Oman takes you on a round-trip from Muscat via Sur and Nizwa, with time spent in the desert folds of Wadi Bani Khalid opening up the lifestyles of the Bedouins as well as nights blanketed by infinite stars.
From desert camps and traditional fishing communities to lush, green oasis and turtle conservation sanctuaries, this tailor made tour of Oman packs plenty into a week away with four-wheel-drive safaris over sand dunes just as exhilarating as you can imagine.

The best time to visit Oman is over the winter from Oct to April as daytime conditions are warm whilst nights are still mild. Summer, from May to Sept, is way too hot and definitely not the best time to visit Oman.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
Day - 1
Arrival Muscat from London. Transfer to your chosen hotel in Muscat, rest of the day at leisure.
Day - 2
Morning tour of Muscat visiting the Sultan Qaboos Mosque, Natural History Museum to study the flora and fauna of Oman before going to the Omani Museum with its wealth of exhibits on the country's cultural heritage. Continue to Muttrah port to visit the fish market, stroll along the Corniche and visit a local souq noted for its silverware, perfumes and spices. Return to your hotel, afternoon at leisure. Breakfast is included.
Day - 3
Depart on an off-road trip following the magnificent coastline from Muscat to Sur. Visit Quriyat, famous for beautiful beaches, and a 'sinkhole', stop for a picnic lunch and visit picturesque Wadi Shaab and wander along the river amid its lush vegetation. Continue to Ras-al-Jinz, which is one of the largest nesting areas for Green Turtle in the Indian Ocean. Overnight at the reserve giving you the advantage of visiting the turtle beach, with a guide to see the turtles come on to the beach searching for nesting ground. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today.
Day - 4
Drive to Wadi Bani Khalid. Then to the mystical desert and rolling dunes of the Wahiba Sands for an exciting drive. After a picnic lunch in the shade you can visit a camel camp for an encounter with local Bedouins. From here you will proceed to your desert camp, where you will have traditional Omani dinner and camp in traditional tents under a huge blanket of stars (wild camping is also available - ask us for more details). Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today.
Day - 5
Today you will visit Al Hoota Caves, en-route to Nizwa. This afternoon visit the beautifully restored 17th century fort of ancient Nizwa and its modern souq. Overnight in Nizwa. Breakfast and lunch are included today.
Day - 6
Enjoy the sights of Nizwa and journey up into the fantastic Jabel Akhdar mountain range. Lunch is included, time to explore this fascinating area with your guide. Breakfast and lunch are included today.
Day - 7
Leave Nizwa this morning and return to Muscat via the old partially deserted villages of Al Hamra and Misfah - lunch is included. Arrive Muscat and check-in to your hotel. Breakast and lunch are included today.
Day - 8
Private transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Breakfast is included today.
